Sources: Suns Waive SF Mickael Pietrus

According to sources, the Phoenix Suns have waived small forward Mickael Pietrus, who has a guaranteed salary of $5.3 million this season.

The eight-year veteran was acquired by the Suns along with Marcin Gortat and Vince Carter from Orlando last December.

Last season, the native of France averaged 7.4 points per game in 38 contests (four starts) with the Suns.

Injury Problem: The Raptors had a trade to obtain Pietrus for a conditional second-round pick earlier this month, but Toronto backed away due to the swingman’s damaged right knee.
